Technology will continue to advance, in some form or another. Systems become more advanced, more powerful, more complex.
But that doesn’t always mean that the previous generation of advancements is now functionally obsolescent. In fact, many of the discoveries and inventions along the way return to favor, finding a new purpose, perhaps even solving a new challenge.
It’s important to embrace the lessons of the past, to look to it for answers. If for no other reason, exploring the past shows us where we’ve been, how we’ve approached problems, and often provides inspiration on how to address the world we are navigating today.
Explore the history of irrigation and discuss the merits of key technologies along the way.
