Commercial farmers know that the key to a profitable farm is the automation of certain tasks, particularly ones that are time intensive. If the process requires human interaction it will limit the scalability of the operation. Raising livestock is one such example and in Wyoming there is a joke about that. “I don’t go on vacation. I own livestock!”
A Lab could employ sensors and automated systems to control temperature and moisture in a worm bin. But how might the worm feeding process be automated? What would that system look like, how would it function, and would it be financially viable?
